To create a brand identity that incorporates the core characteristics
of the Macon community.
Our goal was to create an entire brand identity package that
focused squarely on the unique team name, while staying true to
Macon’s baseball heritage and the distinguishing qualities of the
surrounding areas.
While keeping peach as a secondary color paid homage to the city’s
largest agricultural export and its last baseball team’s nickname, we
wanted the primary color to reflect on an item not as widely known
to many: Macon’s numerous rose gardens and Rose Hill community.
The chosen “Macon Rose” color is singular in all of sports, and serves
as the focal point of the entire brand identity package. Ivory
(representing Macon’s antebellum past) and Granite (reflecting the
stone statues of city heroes throughout the city) round out the
color palette.
The primary and secondary logos feature a stylized “M” in the shape
of a musical eighth-note, complete with an upward-rising music
scale background. The five-line music scale also encircles all of the
team’s caps; a first in professional baseball. The inaugural logo’s
design resembles a treble clef.
Music-themed items will be utilized on all stationery and
advertising applications.
